First Aid Tips : How to Treat Sun Rash

You know at some point in time, many of us
who spend long hours in the sun are going to experience some type of sun burn or sun
rash. Hi I’m Captain Joe Bruni, and what I’m going to discuss and talk about is how to
treat the common sun rash or sun burn. The common sun burn or sun rash could cause blistering
of the skin which could cause some serious problems if the blisters are broken. Sun rash
or sun burn can cause also extreme itching. Avoid scratching the area which you will have
a tendency to want to do. And avoid breaking open the blister which could lead to infection
in the body. Take some type of long bath in cool water to ease the pain from the sun burn
or sun rash. Avoid wearing tight fitting clothing for the next few days. And try to remain out
of the sun as you heal, itching will intensify and increase and again avoid scratching the
blister open. Also some type of hydrocortizone cream can be applied and aloe vera gel. Either
one will work. Aloe Vera gel can be applied and commercially bought at our local pharmacy
or drugstore and also over the counter hydrocortizone cream. Apply the aloe vera gel and then the
hydrocortizone cream to promote and speed healing. Sun burns are never any fun but with
proper treatment and quick action the pain can be relieved and the healing process sped
up. I’m Captain Joe Bruni stay safe and we’ll see you next time.
