Is there a “medial head” to that lil infra-patellar show stopper? I’ve had localized infrapatellar MEDIAL tenderness that is worse when the knee is flexed (when I am trying to sleep!) Twisting actions make it worse. I got a copper compression thing, rested, and took TWO oral supplements (Arthrozene AND Instaflex.) All pain went away! I started back walking. Then elliptical 15 min a day, increasing by 5 min a WEEK! Added the bike. I was up to 30 min each on the elliptical, bike and treadmill for my usual Saturday Morning Science Fiction Theater (three hours of cardio three different ways! Bike, treadmill, elliptical, rower, laps, hill running, etc) My weekday routine is 30 min weights, 30 min cardio (various types) 5 days a week. Yoga daily, meditation daily. I was up to 30 min each on my Saturday Show, and you know it – I twisted the same knee last week, and now I am back at square 1! HELP!! If I could get in the water, all would be well in my world-but no pool access for a few months still. I swam a mile day when I was pregnant. . . LOVE deep water jogging as well.
Good job guys! I'm not familiar with this problem, but I'll know where to go if it shows up in the future. 👍
Not feeling the mikes….you guys sound like air traffic controllers!!!
I used Styrofoam ice cups daily on the bowed tendon on the front leg of my 20 year old Arabian mare (after we finished our daily 45 minute hand walk in sand, prior to leg wrapping for the night).
I'd sit on an upended 5 gallon bucket near her front leg, icing down the leg after the workout. The damaged leg looked like a house's basement foundation post, in comparison to the refined undamaged leg.Looking at both of her legs, I cried a lot, sitting on that bucket, day after day, with no certainty that it would work. We did this routine daily, 7 days a week, from June to the next May. We only missed a total of 5 days of therapy.
The styrocup was so useful because you could peel it back while the ice melted & your hand didn't freeze while administering the therapy. We also used TENS as well- a very novel therapy in 2001-2002. It was thought to help lay down the scar tissue in a striated way (parallel to the original fibers) vs randomized racemic scar tissue forming without the TENS stimulation/ firing along the parallel axis.
I consulted with Tom Ivers, a Thoroughbred race trainer, who wrote The Bowed Tendon Book. He saved a lot of lives with his work, & was a great guy.
When our vet finally consented to examine the leg with ultrasound (after a year- it takes a long time to heal in a horse!) – he said that it was the best repair that he'd ever seen on a bowed tendon. To this day- wished I could put it on my resume! Lol She was returned to function & comfort, and I'd do it all again if needed.
Mics sound windy but if it helps yall work then it gets the job done and works well enough
I have both osgood schlauter and Patellar Tendonitis
Thank you! I had no idea this was what caused my pain. I hit my knee on a wood bench over a year ago, I didn't piece together this was the injury that made crouching down and reorganizing my lower kitchen cabinets this past week horribly painful. I wondered if I needed knee surgery. But this absolutely gave me relief! Glad to know the fibers can be reorganized in the right direction by rubbing them in a cross friction way.
I couldn't stop looking at Bob's hair.
“I concur” 😂. I have this & severe chondromalacia patella from playing sports all my life and D1 college volleyball. At 32, def experiencing the consequences and constantly in PT. I ice all the time because I’m still athletic and I push through workouts & classes 🤦🏾♀️. Will try these massage techniques! Thanks Bob & Brad 😊🙌🏾
My husband has been having knee recently. Once one knee had a little fluid retention but then it went away. He says its like bone on bone
I’ve been trying to get rid of this for almost 4 years and I’ve tried everything😔
I’m from the UK 🇬🇧 and I find find your videos so helpful. Definitely the best on the internet.
Great video! Thank you!I will be doing the ice and massage Now, stop activity? I can’t I’m a fitness instructor and teach 5 classes a week plus any subbing available (sometimes up to 2 classes a day)Class consists of 30mins of cardio (Hi impact) and 30mins of strength I could definitely bring it down to low impact… Any suggestions? Thank you! And love your channel
I’ve had this for two years and can’t get rid of it so I’m gonna try this. My only pain I have is pressing in the area and kneeling is impossible. No pain with squats or any leg exercises though. Even running is fine. Is that odd for my symptoms?
These guys are great….just wondered if they are taking a page from the book of jeff cavalier with the "muscle markers". Two separate channels…both on point! These guys need more subscribers than they have.
good advise but my pain is above the knee cap what up with that
Ty so much
Hi Bob & Brad, is it normal to experience severe pain in left glute/buttock if I have knee tendonitis in my right knee?
I like your idea of ice in a cup. I am 73 yrs old so I have numerous aches and pains, from many years in the military and martial arts over the years. My favorite way to apply cold to a spot is a bag of frozen peas. The bag forms to the body part, and each pea is frozen. As it thaws I will just throw it back into the freezer for another day. Never open the bag never eat the peas. When I think it is time I just throw the bag of peas out and buy another. Love your channel.
Can you please upload a video on strenghning quadriceps around patella after patellar dislocation. 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
My quads were tight leading to this.
A guy at the gym had huge quads. He jumped doing basketball and his patella tendon totally detached from his tibia
Hello sir I'm 21 years oldTwo years before While playing football i fell so badly that i started having pain which later on turned into disc prolapsed L4-L5….and i was in traction which helped me to recover..now again after two years my pain came back and i hardly can walk please suggest me what therapy should i do..its been 3weeks and the pain is in my leg…. I'm confused whether it is herniated disc or perifomis syndrome.
Crazy that this is the topic of the day. I'm finally starting to get to the bottom of the cause of mine. Love getting more info that I can add to my routine.
Hi folks, I have a question. My fingers seem to be most comfortable curved almost into a fist and when I straighten them, there is a burning sensation. Are there any exercises that would help? It feels like the ligaments are tight.
That cross friction massage with the massager had helped me tremendously! Thank you guys!
